Career & Experience
Damien R. Banks obtained his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Following graduation, he worked a year at a law firm that specializes in representing victims of serious injuries. It was during this time that he developed his love for the law, which led him to law school at the American University, Washington College of law.

After graduating law school in 2005, he had the privilege of clerking in the District and Circuit Courts for Montgomery County. By working closely with the district and circuit court judges, he observed firsthand the judicial perspective of high stakes litigation, and had the opportunity to observe and learn about motions practice and case strategy from the hundreds of attorneys that appeared in court daily during his clerkship. Mr. Banks also developed critical relationships with members of the bar, which he still considers vital to his practice as an attorney in Maryland.

In 2005, Mr. Banks began his medical malpractice career effectively defending healthcare providers against negligence claims throughout the federal and state courts of Maryland and Washington D.C. he honed his litigation skills by winning numerous trials as a first chair attorney throughout the Maryland and D.C. region. In 2015, he joined the largest plaintiff’s personal injury law firm in Maryland. Mr. Banks has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for victims of catastrophic injuries and their families with the goal of improving the lives of those in need.

Damien R. Banks is fluent in Spanish and can communicate very well with his Hispanic clients. In the past, he has represented numerous people whose primary language was Spanish. His former clients appreciated Mr. Banks’ ability to discuss case updates and issues with them in their native language. Damien Banks has held numerous leadership positions in the local and state bar associations such as, President of the Baltimore Bar Foundation, representing Baltimore City for the Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors, Director of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association, Chair of the Personal Injury section for the Bar Association of Baltimore City, and former co-chair of the Bench Bar committee for the Bar Association of Baltimore City.
