MHBA Congratulates Judge Carrión on her Appointment as Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City

The Maryland Hispanic Bar Association is proud to congratulate Judge Audrey J.S. Carrión on her appointment to the position of Administrative Judge of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. This position comes with tremendous responsibilities, including supervising the judges, officials, and employees of the court; managing the court’s budget and procurement; and ensuring the efficient and fair resolution of the court’s busy litigation docket.

Judge Carrión is the first Hispanic appointed to this position, in addition to being the first Hispanic judge appointed to the Circuit Court for Baltimore City in 1999. She has been a member of the Maryland Hispanic Bar Association since 1993. She has worked hard to ensure equal justice for the Latino community throughout her time as a judge, including chairing the Judiciary’s Committee on Court Interpretation and Translation Services from 2002 – 2014.

Judge Carrión was appointed by Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera. Her term will begin effective January 12, 2020.
