CONGRATULATIONS TO MHBA’S FOUNDER MAYDA COLON TSAKNIS AND OUR PRESIDENT JESSICA QUINCOSA FOR BEING HONORED WITH THE MARYLAND DAILY RECORD’S LEADERS IN THE LAW AWARD

The Daily Record selected Mayda Colon Tsaknis, founder, and  Jessica A. Quincosa, President, to receive the 2017 Leadership in Law Awards. Thirty-nine members of the legal community throughout Maryland were recognized for their outstanding work.

The top winner of this year’s Leadership in Law Awards will be announced at the celebration event May 11 at the BWI Hilton. The honoree will be determined by a vote of this year’s Leadership in Law winners.

Mayda Colon Tsaknis was selected for the legal professionals with exemplary careers through the Daily Record’s Leadership in Law Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.  Jessica A. Quincosa was selected for The Daily Record’s Leadership in Law Generation J.D Award, which recognizes up-and-coming legal professionals.

Nominations for all the awards were received from The Daily Record’s readers in addition to area law firms, bar associations, chambers of commerce and the business and legal communities at large. Nominees were asked to complete an application that outlined their career accomplishments, community involvement and mentoring activities that would distinguish them as outstanding leaders in the law. Winners were selected by a panel of legal and business leaders.

The Daily Record launched the Leadership in Law Awards in 2001 as a way to recognize the outstanding work being done by members of the legal community throughout Maryland.

The Daily Record’s Leadership in Law honorees make a tremendous impact on their profession, the community and our state,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. “In addition, each is committed to mentoring the next generation of legal professionals. Mentoring is a critical component to receiving the Leadership in Law Award, and this year’s honorees demonstrate that strong commitment to future leaders of the law profession. We at The Daily Record are pleased to recognize them.”

The 2017 Leadership in Law Awards will be presented May 11 at a reception starting at 5:30 p.m. at the BWI Hilton, 1739 West Nursery Road in Linthicum Heights. Winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the May 12 issue of The Daily Record and available online at thedailyrecord.com
