Event Calendar

Local Bars, Specialty Bars and the MSBA are all teaming up for the First Annual Lawyers Day of Service. Beginning Friday, April 26th through Sunday, April 28th, attorneys from across the state will be engaging in community service projects to give back to their local communities.
The Maryland Hispanic Bar Association has partnered with the Bar Association of Montgomery County, the Maryland Women’s Bar Association Montgomery County Chapter, and the Homeless Persons Representation Project to offer several opportunities to participate.

Here is an overview of the opportunities:

WHAT: Alternatives to the Criminalization of Homelessness Forum

WHEN: Friday, April 26, 1:30pm – 3:30pm

WHERE: Montgomery County Executive Office Building (101 Monroe Street Rockville, MD 20850)

WHY: To discuss the community’s successes, positive strategies/best practices and how to build off the momentum to leverage existing expertise and resources. Participants will also identify gaps, areas for improvement, and how providers can serve as a resource to law enforcement.

*Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

 

WHAT: Pro Bono Expungement Clinic

WHEN: Saturday, April 27, 10:00am – 12:00pm

WHERE: Home Builders Care Assessment Center – Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless, 600 East Gude Drive, Rockville, MD

Details: No expungement experience required, there will be a brief training at 10:00 a.m.

 

WHAT: A Wider Circle Donation Center

WHEN: Saturday, April 27, 12:00pm – 3:00pm

WHERE: A Wider Circle Center, 9159 Brookville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910

Details: Volunteers will stock and organize donations and assist clients in selecting items.
